Order of Ceremony

1)     Procession - Welcome

a.     Bride stands at the entrance of the church with her parents while bridegroom stands near the kneeler facing the bride.

b.     Priest blesses the bride with holy water and the procession starts. The congregation rises to welcome the bride

c.     When the procession reaches the bridegroom the parents unites the bride with the groom. They now face the priest

Marriage Rite - Regular

Thali, Saree, Unity candle, etc

RITE FOR CELEBRATING MARRIAGE


(After the bride is ushered into the front by her father & mother, both the bridegroom and the bride face the priest.)

Priest: N. and N., you have come together in this Church so that the Lord may seal and strengthen your love in the presence of the Church's minister and this community. The Lord abundantly blesses this love. He has given you life and faith and has already consecrated you and now he enriches and strengthens you by a special sacrament so that you may assume the duties of marriage in mutual and lasting fidelity. As a sign of that you will separately light a candle symbolizing that you come separately as individuals before the Lord. 

N. lights the right side candle and N. the left side candle.
Mass begins as usual 

MARRIAGE RITE -1

(No Thali, no saree. Vows said directly by the couple)
